Dentist accused of poisoning wife to death will go to trial

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) -- An Arapahoe County judge decided Wednesday during a preliminary hearing that prosecutors provided enough probable evidence to move forward to trial when it comes to Dr. James Craig. The local dentist is accused of poisoning his wife, Angela Craig, to death back in March. “It's the memories that are hard," Mark Pray, the brother of Angela Craig said. "I don’t know what to say about the evidence, we were there helping and took Angela to the hospital." Miami-Dade Police officers experienced danger on duty in separate incidents in Southwest Miami-Dade and Northeast Miami-DadeNewly released body camera video showed a rough confrontation between a suspect and an officer in Southwest Miami-Dade, June 25.The footage shows the suspect, identified as 32-year-old George Knowles, was seen swinging and punching the officer, which prompted him to reach for his Taser in order to subdue the suspect. WASHINGTON (AP) — A man was killed by a car fleeing law enforcement officers Wednesday afternoon just outside of the White House.The incident occurred just before 1:30 p.m. when uniformed members of the Secret Service attempted to stop a vehicle with an expired registration, according to a statement on Twitter from the agency. The driver initially indicated they would stop, but then accelerated away, the statement said.The driver sped through a red light and struck multiple people in the crosswalk of the intersection of 17th Street Northwest and Constitution Avenue. A search got underway in Manchester, New Hampshire Wednesday for a man who police said is “armed and dangerous” after a shooting that sent one man to an area hospital. Police said the man who was shot, age 34, was found with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound “to his lower extremity” after calls initially came in reporting a shooting around 3 p.m. on Front Street.Police said the suspect, Anthony Barahona, was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts. The suspect and the man who was shot, police said, are known to each other. “The gun has not been recovered so Barahona should be considered armed and dangerous, police said. A man is facing assault charges after police say a victim was stabbed at a gym in Gardner, according to authorities.The Gardner Police Department said the stabbing happened around 10:20 a.m. at the Planet Fitness on Victoria Lane. The victim, 43-year-old Daniel Harris, was seriously wounded as a result and was flown to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.“Out of nowhere, I feel somebody grab me from behind, and I feel like what’s a punch to my back,” Harris said. “There was blood everywhere though that was what scared me more than anything. I’ve never seen myself bleed that much.” Harris said he was pulled to the ground in the men’s locker room, and his attacker ran away. A close call off of Nantucket when two whales came right up to a fisherman’s boat earlier this week.“I’ve seen them close before, maybe a couple hundred yards, but that was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime for them to come that close to the boat,” Josh Holdgate said.Holdgate was tuna fishing with five others aboard Captain Pete Kaizer’s Althea K about 30 miles east of Nantucket.Holdgate said the fog was thick which made it harder to spot the whales.“Usually, you can see them for a couple miles,” he said. “The only time you could see them was inside that fog bank which is maybe 300 yards of visibility, so once they came up, they’re already on top of you. They’re 50 feet long.
