AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Fire Department said crews were working on a fire in a boarded-up apartment complex in east Austin.AFD said the fire was in the 5200 block of Cameron Road, and initially a second alarm was called for the fire, but it was later canceled.According to officials, initial companies were able to confine the fire.Austin developing total eclipse plan ahead of April phenomenon

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin City Council is directing interim city manager Jesús Garza and city staff to create a plan that covers access, safety and celebration of the total solar eclipse which will take place on April 8, 2024. The last time a total solar eclipse was visible in the area where Austin is located was in the 14th century, per city documents.
