ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Palace Theatre announced they will be hosting Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade. The concert is scheduled for October 20. Claypool is best known for being the frontman, bassist and musical mad genius of the legendary progressive rock band Primus. The Fearless Flying Frog Brigade was originally formed in 2000 while Claypool was on a hiatus from Primus, but the experimental rock group was reformed in 2023, adding some new members, including Sean Lennon on guitar. As part of their set, Claypool and company will perform Pink Floyd's 1977 album "Animals". Nearly 150 people died of fentanyl overdoses in Denver in the first six months of 2023, and the city’s public health agency asked people who are going to use drugs to take precautions.The Denver Department of Public Health and Environment reported 228 overdoses in the first half of the year, including 146 that involved fentanyl — a 16% increase in deaths attributed to the potent opioid compared the same time period in 2022.It’s possible those numbers could rise as investigations into recent deaths continue.In 2022, 453 people died of overdoses in Denver, including 244 that involved fentanyl.The Denver health department said law enforcement has reported increased availability of fentanyl powder, and that pills sold illegally have had a higher fentanyl content recently.
