ABC is the most underrated ’80s new wave pop band of all.Yet, that certainly didn’t appear to be the case on on Monday night (May 22) at Bimbo’s 365 Club, as hundreds of fans packed the snazzy San Francisco club to capacity to energetically cheer on vocalist Martin Fry and company and joyfully relive some of the decade’s very best pop songs.“It feels like 1983 in here tonight,” Fry remarked to the crowd. “I am having a flashback ”And what a tremendous flashback it was, as Fry — the group’s only remaining original member — showcased his still-pristine vocals on 16 songs during roughly 75 minutes of stage time.Actually, this particular flashback is part of a much bigger one going on in the Bay Area, as a number of the other acts that played the big SoCal ’80s Cruel World festival last weekend — including Love and Rockets, Human League, Echo and the Bunnymen, Modern English and Gary Numan — also have sc...Study: Santa Clara County edges out Orange County in share of Vietnamese restaurants

LOS ANGELES (AP) — U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s ongoing medical struggles have raised a sensitive political question with no easy answer: Who would California Gov. Gavin Newsom pick to replace her if the seat becomes vacant?Despite calls from within her own party to resign, Feinstein, who turns 90 next month and is the oldest member of Congress, has given no indication that she is considering stepping down. Her frail appearance, confused interactions with reporters in Washington and the growing list of health challenges disclosed by her office continue to fan questions about her fitness for the job — now and into the future. ‘Hard time understanding’: Ex-A’s announcer Kuiper responds to firing Should a vacancy occur, a range of names, from obscure to famous — including Oprah Winfrey — have been floated in California circles as possible replacements. HALF MOON BAY, Calif. (AP) — Investigators are looking into the possibility that fuel issues may have caused a small plane to crash into the Pacific Ocean, killing two people on board. The Viking Air DHC-6-400 Twin Otter was equipped with an additional fuel system that would have allowed it to go further than it could with its original fuel tanks, said Sarah Sulick, a spokesperson for the National Transportation Safety Board. Santa Cruz second fastest growing city in 2022, Census data shows “According to reports, they were having problems with their fuel, so investigators want to look at the issue of ‘fuel starvation,’ which would mean there was a problem with ferry tanks supplying enough fuel to the main tanks,” she said. The small plane crashed around 2:15 p.m. Saturday about 40 miles (64 km) off the coast of Half Moon Bay, California. EAGAN, Minn. (AP) — The NFL has pushed the kickoff return further toward irrelevance with a priority on player safety.League owners voted Tuesday for a one-year trial of an enhanced touchback rule that will give the receiving team the ball at its own 25 with a fair catch of a kickoff anywhere behind that yard line. The proposal passed despite an expression of distaste for it from coaches and players across the league. They argued the rule change will create uglier plays with squib and corner kicks that are impossible for fair catches. “I’ve been in this for a long time. I’ve seen these type of health and safety discussions,” said Atlanta Falcons chief executive officer Rich McKay, who is chairman of the competition committee. “We tend to get ourselves to the right place, but it’s never that comfortable.”The NFL said its statistical models predict the return rate for kickoffs in 2023, under the new rule, will drop from 38% to 31% and that the rate of concussions on the sport...Estudiante resulta herido de bala cerca de su escuela al noreste de DC
